From Fabriano, With Love — A Postcard Project

Some projects begin with a business plan (ours never will))

This one began in the depths of winter, with the idea of a party to celebrate the start of summer…

Over the past few months, six artists, one printer, countless conversations, a few bottles of wine, and more than a handful of shared meals have helped bring From Fabriano, With Love to life.

What started as a simple idea, house-bound in winter, soon became something much bigger than a postcard collection…more on that to come :)

As custodians of a hospitality project, we spend a lot of time thinking about what people take home from a place. Not the souvenirs bought at the last minute or the photographs that never leave a camera roll, but the feelings, memories, conversations, and connections that linger long after a journey ends.

A postcard felt like the perfect expression of that idea….

Part artwork. Part communication. Part invitation.

And of course, a slower form of communication.

Created with six artists connected to Fabriano and printed on traditional Fabriano paper by Mauro and the team at Edizioni Mona, the collection celebrates a town that has been shaping paper for centuries and continues to inspire the people who live, work, and create here today.

Each artist approached the project differently.

Some found inspiration in the garden, others in the table, the people, the river, the architecture, or the feeling of Fabriano itself. Together, they created six entirely different interpretations of a place we all care deeply about.

One of the greatest joys of the project has been the people behind it.

To Irene,Mose, Ale, Elizabeth, Iwona, Rebecca, Mauro and everyone who supported the project along the way — thank you.

Thank you for your time, your generosity, your creativity, your stories, and your willingness to say yes to an idea that arrived with very little brief and a great deal of trust.

The launch afternoon reminded us why projects like this matter.

The apartments were filled with neighbours, artists, local businesses, visitors, supporters, conversations, and new ideas. Future collaborations were discussed. New friendships were formed.

For a few hours, the project became exactly what we had hoped it would become: a reason for people to come together.

And perhaps that's what Fritto Misto Comune has always been about.

Fabriano is a UNESCO Creative City, home to remarkable museums, a rich paper-making heritage, artists, makers, craftspeople, incredible landscapes, food traditions, and a creative community that deserves to be celebrated.

We would love to continue creating opportunities for artists, writers, photographers, designers, makers, gardeners, chefs and curious travellers to spend time here, explore the region, share ideas, and create work inspired by the place.

Call it a creative residency.
Call it a collaboration.
Call it slow travel with purpose.

Whatever the name, we are open to conversation.

If you are a creative person looking for a place to spend time, develop an idea, host a workshop, run a project, or simply immerse yourself in a town with centuries of cultural significance, our door is open.

For now, however, the postcards are ready to travel.

From Fabriano, with love.
